AccountAbility provides tax services to individuals and small businesses. We currently have an outstanding employment opportunity available for an experienced tax preparer to join our busy, family-friendly team.

We are looking for an individual to join our team as a part-time tax accountant who wants to work from his / her own home office while providing professional, honest, and helpful service to our clients. We believe passionately that our team members should have the flexibility to balance both their career and personal lives and have the opportunity to work in a way that fits their lives.

The Role:

Tax Prep:

  • Collection and entering of raw tax return data: W2 forms, 1099 forms, reports from QuickBooks for self-employed individuals, etc.

  • Reaching out to clients for additional or missing information

  • Completion of tax return

  • Review and quality control check of returns prepared by others

  • Meet with clients to review and finalize tax returns

The Requirements:

Skills:

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment

  • Computer savvy

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Self-motivated and enjoy problem-solving

Education & Experience:

  • Must have at least 4 years of proven experience with complex 1040 and state returns

  • Expertise with QuickBooks is a must

  • Experience with UltraTax desired

  • Knowledge of payroll and the associated taxes is required
